After upgrading from OX 10.4.11 to OSX 10.5.5 on my iBookG4 (1.42 GHz) and my wife's iMac (2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) , the print dialogue window changed. Options previously available for changing layout, etc. have disappeared. This means that I am no longer able to select the end or edge binding options that produced duplex printing. Neither can I figure out any other way to do duplex printing. I've tried installing the driver software that came with the printer to no avail. The same problem obtains with a newly purchased MacBook (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo)

The printer is an HP LaserJet 1320 and we connect to itr wirelessly through my Airport Express.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

The options have not disappeared but the interface has changed. Go to File>Print and look at the print window. Click the triangle to the right of the Printer popup menu. That will give you all the choices. Read this tip if you want to have those options show by default.

I could have sworn I tried that! In any case, many thanks. That resolved the problem.

Not necessarily. I've run into a similar issue with the DeskJet 970C. Full-featured under 10.4.11, option-truncated beyond the basics under Leopard. Specifically, the default Leopard driver 'lost' the option to set Two-sided Printing as well as Paper type/Quality. Certainly the latter is quite basic, and the duplex option only slightly less so.

That said, I have yet to try the latest version included in HP Printer Driver Update 1.1.1. (Unfortunately, and in contrast with Tiger, the Leopard printing dialog doesn't list the Deskjet's driver version either, so it's not clear an update is even available.)

Finally, an issue affecting LaserJets may be a caveat about presets other than Standard posted by Apple; this too affects the utility of both driver and printer.
