I am trying to connect an Epson Powerlite S6 to an iBook G4 running OS 10.4.11. The screen briefly appears, then disappears and a message states that the Epson is receiving no signal. The directions say to go into System Preferences, select Displays then click Detect Displays. I get two windows in the Displays panel, one for the iBook screen and one for the Epson. The directions say to click on the Arrangement or Arrange tab and check the Mirror Displays box. I don't get an Arrangement or Arrange tab for either display, only a Display and Color tabs. How do I get the Epson to display the computer screen?

Don't know if this will help, but I have noticed that on my Powerbook G4 running OS X.4.7, the detect displays button does not always work. I have found it best to connect everything while all power is off, turn on the projector, then boot the PowerBook. Then the projector is recognized automatically.

Also, how are you connecting to the Epson. It has USB, S-Video, composite video and VGA. The specs clearly state "The projector is Mac compatible via DVI to VGA adapter (not included)."

You are correct. This adapter comes with every Mac laptop and must be used in this setting. Also, the F7 key is specifically designed to mirror monitors (like F5 on PC). It might be a solution.

Thanks. Turns out there was a bad cable connecting the projector to the computer. Everything works fine now.
